Women’s Alliance of Southeastern Massachusetts

Our History

The Women’s Alliance began when local leaders from the YWCA Southeastern Massachusetts, the Women’s Center, the Women’s Fund, and UMass Dartmouth came together with a unified goal: to foster collaboration, solidarity, and action amongst community members in Southeastern Massachusetts to work toward gender and racial justice for all.

Recognizing the power of collective action, the Women’s Alliance quickly grew beyond its four founding organizations. Today, we have expanded to include the Immigrants’ Assistance Center, the Bristol Community College Women’s Center, the Greater Southeastern Massachusetts Labor Council, Our Sisters’ School and numerous other vital organizations and individuals.
