Women’s Alliance of Southeastern Massachusetts

WELCOME TO THE

Our Mission

The Women's Alliance brings together organizations and individuals committed to gender and racial justice to share our collective work and identify opportunities to collaborate.

Our Vision

Foster collaboration, solidarity, and action amongst community members in Southeastern Massachusetts to work toward gender and racial justice for all.

Our History

The Women’s Alliance began when local leaders from the YWCA Southeastern Massachusetts, the Women’s Center, the Women’s Fund, and UMass Dartmouth came together with a unified goal: to foster collaboration, solidarity, and action amongst community members in Southeastern Massachusetts to work toward gender and racial justice for all.

Recognizing the power of collective action, the Women’s Alliance quickly grew beyond its four founding organizations. Today, we have expanded to include the Immigrants’ Assistance Center, the Bristol Community College Women’s Center, the Greater Southeastern Massachusetts Labor Council, Our Sisters’ School and numerous other vital organizations and individuals. Together, we continue to serve and advocate for the Greater New Bedford community. See more about our member organizations on our Members page.

Our Leadership

The Women’s Alliance Steering Committee is made up of founding members and all respective chairs of each subcommittee. To learn more about our leadership, please visit the Members page.
